Abused pictures
Here’s two pictures that cracked me and Infestor51 up:

The focus of the signs is supposed to be utilitarian, but I’m guessing that the sign intended the ladies to run to the toilet. And what about your gentlemen waiting for the ladies? Well, you could stand by the sign and smile like an eerie creep
My guess is that the designer was probably in a hurry and simply dumped the first image he found in the clip art gallery! Sounds like something I’d do back in 1999.
Those signs are quite inappropriate (though it isn’t the “vulgar” or “crude” type of inappropriateness); not only is it hard to recognise that the signs were to inform commuters of the toilet’s location, the use of clip art is a huge dead give-away that both signs were made in Microsoft Word.
Well, the signs are still up there at Dover MRT station concourse, so if you would like to go organise a point-and-laugh flash mob, be sure to leave your comments here. In the meantime, I’ll show you how easy it is to get images for anybody who’s making toilet signs. All signs that follow are licensed under the Creative Commons.

Wah check out the three-dimensional effect in the last picture sia. So realistic. Haha.

I’m sure the 3D effect was unintentional; most probably a result of a stray object, you know?

I’m sure it was some stray object. Hmmm… what can it be? Wet toilet paper thrown at such high speed that it deformed into a cylindrical shape and smack straight accurately at the correct spot causing the three-dimensional effect? Get real sia.

The last picture looks like there’s blu tack that is placed on the sign. Ya you can tell some posters, notices, presentation that uses mircosoft office clip arts at one look. But the clip art is in there for you to use it right? I find it rather interesting then putting just words on it which makes it look plain and those auntie or uncle that doesn’t know English will not know which toilet is male or female. Maybe we’re too used to the symbol instead, I just don’t like flashy toilets like the one at central area. I mistake a female toilet for a male one because from outside it can look like a typical male toilet. <_<
