He used to be a commercial diver, and repaired cables (and oil rigs and pipelines and so on) - an incredibly dangerous job, but very well paid. In fact he was even based in Singapore for a while. But he doesn't have email, so I can't ask him soon. If I remember, I'll ask the next time I call. Maybe he'll have some idea. I should ask my brother why it took so long.
